Microreader™ Equine 18 ID System
Introduction
Microreader™ Equine ID system is designed for horse parentage testing and identification using Short Tandem Repeat (STR) DNA loci, which allows co-amplification of multiplex STR loci in a single PCR reaction.
Key Features
■ Additionally identify the sex of horse
■ Selected Markers, recommended by the ‘Equine Genetics and Thoroughbred
■ Parentage Testing Standardization Committee’ of the International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG).
■ High resistance to the presence of PCR inhibitors
■ Control DNA provided for verification of PCR and electrophoresis conditions
■ Allele calling represents true alleles (no plus-A peaks)
The Microread Bovine ID system
The Microread Bovine 18 ID system is offered for horse parentage testing and identification using STR loci.
The Microread Equine 18 ID system contains 17 standard STR markers recommended by the International Society of Animal Genetics (ISAG), including: VHL20, HTG4, AHT4, HMS7, HTG6, AHT5, HMS6, ASB23, ASB2, HTG10, HTG7, HMS3, HMS2, ASB17, LEX3, HMS1 and CA425, and 1 marker for sexual identification; AMEL. Microreader Equine 18 ID system can provide higher discrimination in parentage testing and identification for horse.
■ Applicable sample types
The kit amplifies extracted DNA from hair follicle, saliva swab and blood.
■ Provide control DNA
The kit includes bovine control DNA for verification of acceptable PCR and electrophoresis conditions.
■ No plus-A peaks
Reagents and protocols have been optimized to deliver similar peak sizes (amplification yields) for each loci. Allele callings obtained with this kit represent the true alleles of an individual, instead of 'plus-A peaks' or 'split peaks' .
