Microreader™ Bovine 19 ID System
Introduction
MicroreaderTM Bovine ID system is designed for cattle parentage testing and identification using Short Tandem Repeat (STR) DNA loci, which allows co-amplification of multiplex STR loci in a single PCR reaction.
Key Features
■Selected Markers, recommended by the International Society of Animal Genetics (ISAG), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
■ High resistance to the presence of PCR inhibitors
■ Control DNA provided for verification of PCR and electrophoresis conditions
■ Allele calling represents true alleles (no plus-A peaks)
The Microread Bovine ID system
The Microreader Bovine 19 ID system is offered for cattle parentage testing and identification using STR loci.
The Microreader Bovine 19 ID system contains 12 widely used standard STR markers recommended by the International Society of Animal Genetics (ISAG), including: TGLA227, BM2113, TGLA53, ETH10, SPS115, TGLA126, TGLA122, INRA23, BM1818, ETH3, ETH225, and BM1824, but also contain 7 more highly polymorphic STR loci recommended by ISAG, NIST and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which is more informative, and it can provide higher discrimination in parentage testing and identification.
■ Applicable sample types
The kit amplifies extracted DNA from hair follicle, saliva swab and blood.
■ Provide control DNA
The kit includes bovine control DNA for verification of acceptable PCR and electrophoresis conditions.
■ No plus-A peaks
Reagents and protocols have been optimized to deliver similar peak sizes (amplification yields) for each loci. Allele callings obtained with this kit represent the true alleles of an individual, instead of 'plus-A peaks' or 'split peaks' .
